Global Collaboration with Rotary Continues

The HSP Team spent several days during October and November (2014) at the village of Gamcha, on the outskirts of Kathmandu.

In collaboration with the Rotary Club of Tripureswor (Kathmandu) our team evaluated the performance of the 90 stoves distributed in January 2014, and gave 20 additional stoves to families in the community.

Quantitative data were gathered, with guidance from the Mayo Clinic, as part of HSP’s “Breathe Easy Nepal 2014/15” Expedition, which has been sanctioned by the Explorers Club, who’s flag flies alongside the flags of Rotary International and MIT (“Chief Cooks” alma mater where his friends and classmates are generously supporting the HSP).

In the first week of December, 2014, two comprehensive articles about the HSP Program with Rotary (and our stove provider. Envirofit) were published:

“From Smoky to Smoke Free” – Which appeared in Rotary News (S. Asia) December 2014 (circulation 106,000)

“When the Going Gets Tough – Envirofit Clean Cookstove” – Which appeared in the December 2014 issue of The Rotarian – Global Circulation 1,200,000.
