On May 29 (the exact anniversary date of the Hillary / Tenzing summit) there was a “smashing” celebration at the Royal Geographical Society in London, attended by Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh (and “Chief Cook” George Basch, and “others”).

I very happily had the pleasure of meeting UK-based writer and journalist Ed Douglas during this visit. One for the Bucket List, as I’ve long admired his work, and we hope to enjoy future conversation.
