A Message From Scott and Lisa

Hello everyone!

In lieu of gifts, we ask our guests to make a donation to The Himalayan Stove Project.

Since our trip to Nepal in 2017, we have looked for ways to help and support the kind people of Nepal. After much research we have focused on this organization due to the their commitment to improving the health and lives of the Nepalese.

Your donations are 100% tax-deductible.

The Himalayan Stove Project is a US based, not-for-profit philanthropic and humanitarian organization dedicated to preserving the Himalayan environment and improving the health of the people living in Nepal. They donate and distribute free, clean-burning, fuel-efficient Envirofit clean cook stoves, transforming the lives of individuals and families who now cook with traditional, rudimentary stoves or over open fire pits inside their homes, consuming excessive amounts of precious fuel and polluting the indoor air to dangerously unhealthy levels.

Air pollution is the single largest global environmental health risk. Household Air Pollution (HAP) from cooking over an open fire kills 4.3 million people every year…..more than HIV, malaria and TB combined. HAP is particularly a risk factor in poor regions, affecting over 3 billion people worldwide.

Health is improved by reducing indoor air pollution, the health of the environment is protected by reducing de-forestation and reducing carbon emissions, and quality of life is improved by reducing the amount of time families spend in the endless task of foraging for fuel. The photo below demonstrates the effectiveness of these vented, clean cook stoves in homes.

Julia Roberts is the spokesperson for the Clean Cooking Alliance, and you can watch her latest video here, describing the issues faced by people around the world and why clean cook stoves are vital.

Current sponsors of this program include: Amazon, Adidas, Eddie Bauer, Outside Magazine, The Mayo Clinic, Patagonia, among many other international organizations.

To date, they have donated over 5000 stoves to the people of Nepal, affecting the lives of over 40,000 people!

Please consider a donation as your gift to us! Your gift of $150 will transform the life of an individual or family, as each Envirofit Clean Cook Stove is $150.

However, any amount helps and will contribute to improving lives of individuals and families in the Mt. Everest region and other remote villages of Nepal.

Thank you in advance and if you have any questions, please let us know.

Love, Lisa & Scott
