Right now, the Sherpa Foundation and its Nepal volunteers are delivering a total of 150 Envirofit clean cookstoves to the Kulung Village.
115 Nepalese families in Gudel Village of Maha Kulung Municipality and 35 families from Salyan, Salleri are receiving their right to live without smoke related illnesses.
We are endlessly grateful to the amazing partner volunteers who really are the key to all of our work, often hiking these stoves on their backs to remote villages throughout Nepal. Pemba Tenzing Sherpa, founder of the Sherpa Foundation, and his brother Lhakpa, helped to coordinate and supervise these drops, and we honor their commitment and heart for this mission.
Last month we partnered with Taos Ski Valley to present a talk by mountaineering legend, Dave Hahn. Hundreds gathered to hear the avid climber and guide discuss his most memorable experiences and lessons. The event raised over $2,000, enough money to buy stoves for 14 families in Nepal. But wait...it gets better: Prior to the event, Dave took to social media to highlight his talk and Himalayan Stove Project. The mother of a man who has previously climbed with Dave saw this post and was so moved that she donated $5,000! This is enough money to provide 33 much deserving Nepali people with a life-changing clean cookstove. Thank you to Dave, all attendees, and the staff who worked to make this event possible. We are grateful for YOU.

High school junior Vinnie Webster has her own jewelry business on Instagram. But unlike most, Vinnie isn't looking to use her talent for herself, instead she is spreading the love with nonprofits that resonate with her. Recently, we received an email from this ambitious teen letting us know that she and her high school group had raised enough money in February to purchase 5 stoves for families in Nepal. She also let us know that she's decided to start donating monthly proceeds from her beautiful work straight to HSP. We're both completely floored by this engaged, and talented youth, and honored to receive the benefits of her hard work! You can follow Vinnie on Instagram @_beadz_ and purchase her work directly.
